1. Palatal rugae removal

2. Periodontal probing

3. Graft design. 15c blade tip is used perpendicular to the palatal surface

4. The 4 bleeding lines that delimit the rectangular shape are idictated by the therapeutic objective and by the extension of the receiving bed. The tip blade does not penetrate more than 2 mm into the palatal tissue

5. Thinning with disto-mesial direction. The 15c surgical blade penetrates for almost all its length until it reaches the apical extension of the graft design

6. The surgical blade is placed at the most apical graft site, to join the previous incision with the latter, in order to release the graft from the underlying connective tissue using atraumatic tweezers

7. Graft removal using atraumatic surgical tweezers, immediately placed in the receiving bed

8. A collagen hemostatic sponge  is placed. The donor site is sutured with horizontal  mattress, crossed and knotted vestibularly
